Mode of action:
Acetochlor is a herbicide for selective prebud treatment. It is mainly absorbed by the coleoptile sheath of monocotyledons or the hypocotyls of dicotyledons, and then transmitted upward. It inhibits cell growth mainly by hindering protein synthesis, so as to stop the growth of weed shoots and young roots, and then die.
Uses:
Description: A chloroacetanilide herbicide used mainly pre-emergence or pre-planting to control annual grasses and some broad-leaved weeds.
Example weeds controlled: Annual grasses including feathertop chloris, goosegrass, sweet buffalo grass and crab grass; Certain broadleaf weeds including morning glory, marigold, pigweed and cocklebur.
Example applications: Vegetables including cabbage, peas and onions; Fruit including citrus, apples, pears, plums, apricots; Coffee; Corn; Sugarbeets; Sugarcane; Potatoes.
