Mode of action:
Mesotrione is a systemic selective pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicide, which is absorbed by the leaves and roots, and then conducts bidirectionally to the top and the base. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the activity of copper p-hydroxypropionate dioxygenase (HPPD), causing yellowing symptoms in plant meristems and causing dead spots, and then the whole plant death.
Uses:
Description: A pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicide used to control some grass and broad-leaved weeds mainly in maize crops.
Example weeds controlled: Broad-leaved weeds including velvet leaf, cocklebur, pigweeds, sunflower and nightshade.
